Our dreamhouse

Location: The Inderoy peninsula with the small village of Vangshylla lays about 80 km north-west of the Trondheim-airport. Skarnsundet performs the narrow water connection between the Trondheim fjord and the Beitstadfjord, both known for the richness of fish. Our lovely house with own bay/beech and perfect view on several islands is directly on the waterline.

Division: The house has 3 floors: Cellar, first and second floor. The cellar is appartment I and the first and second floor is appartment II. 

Appartment I: has its own entrance, 2 big sleeping rooms with 2 beds each, a small kitchen, a bathroom with toilet and bath, a big living room and a storage room with joint deepfreezer.

Appartment II: has the mainentrance on the first floor with hall, large and modern kitchen with refrigerator, electric furnace and dishwashing machine, a very big living room with terrace and magnificent views upon the small harbour and playing whales, floorheated bathroom with toilet and shower plus washing machine and via the stairways you get to the second floor with 3 sleeping rooms including one double bedroom and a toilet. A double garage and child playing house plus joint garden completes the house. Distance to the own beach is about 15-20 meters.

Fishing the Fjords: The very deep Skarnsundet is famous for its big ,delicious coalfish. It requires heavy tackle and is best during periods of full or new moon. Four guests had 81coalfish averaging 6-8 lbs amongst them in 2 days in February.The surrounding fjords however with some shallower waters offer great cod and shellfish for the flyrodder and quality catfish as well as big plaice for the bait( lugworms) or spinfisherman and can easily be reached by our 15 ft boat with 10 hp engine equipped for max. 4 fishermen. In summer and autumn there is great herring fishing.Fishing is possible all-year round as the fjord is not frozen in winter.

Salmon- and Seatrout Fishing: Never far away. In just 20 rminutes by car you will get to rivers like Verdalselva( av annual catch 11000 lbs) and the 4 Steinkjer rivers , Steinkjerelva, Ogna, Bya and Figgjo( total average annual catch of 15000 lbs). The Argard system with the Oyungsaa( 6000 lbs/year, mostly grilse) is at about 50 minutes- 1 hr. A little bit over 1 hr is needed for the Stjordalselva and Stordalselva( Afjord, 7000 lbs/year) as well as Namsen( 40000 lbs/year). The fishing takes place between the end of May and early September with good salmon fishing in June and the best Seatrout fishing after the second half of July. Depending upon waterlevels late August and September can be great for combined salmon and seatrout fishing. We can supply most of the daytickets for USD 20- 50/day and arrange professional guided trips to various salmon rivers from about USD 80/day if requested in time.

Storage of fish: Your cleaned fish can be stored in our large deepfreezer and can be taken home easily in styropor boxes( without opening up to 48 hrs).

Other options: You can make nice walks from our backyard trough the magnificent forests and pick, depending upon the time of the year, blueberries, raspberries, cloudberries and several kinds of mushrooms. At low tide you can find mussels and lugworms(10 km). Swimming, surfing and diving are possible pretty often. Levanger has a large tropical swimming pool. Shopping is done 4 km from the house or in Straumen(10 km), in Steinkjer( 22 km), Verdal( 16 km ) or Levanger( 30 km). The very famous Skarnsundet bridge brings you easily to Fosen and Afjord. In summer you can enjoy the historic play of King Olav at Stiklestad, whereas winter offers nearby downhill and cross country skiing. Golf can be arranged.

Travelling: You can fly to Trondheim and rent a car at special rate of about USD 350/week or you take your own car and drive via Germany , Denmark and the new bridge to Sweden and Norway or just use one of the numerous ferries(cheap apart from the main season) between GB, Germany and Denmark to Norway(or Sweden). Upon wish you may also be picked up at Vaernes/Trondheim airport. 

Prices: Per week/per appartment of 4 persons each from Saturday-Saturday.

For reservations for a second week or more weeks 10% discount.
For reservations of appartment I + II: 10% discount.
Final cleaning: Euro 65 per appartment.
Rental car (our Mercedes 250D automatic): Euro 350 per week.
