WHITE STURGEON and PACIFIC SALMON
BRITISH COLUMBIA
August 26 th- September 5 th 2004 ( 11 days)

Geography: After a smooth KLM direct flight to Vancouver a 1,5 hrs car trip in northerly direction brings you to your accomodation at mighty FRASER river.

Itinerary: You will fly on Thursday August  26 th  2004 from Amsterdam( dep.1025)  to Vancouver ( arr. 1120).  Upon arrival a rental car/van  will bring you in 1,5 hrs  to the  Ranch or Cabin for your accomodation  during 9 nights. On Saturday September 04 th after breakfast the car will bring you back to Vancouver( dep. 1320) for your return flight to Amsterdam( arr. 0740 Sunday morning). Of course you can extend your stay as much as you like. In the meantime you can fish 6 full days , fully guided from a jet boat. Of course time in between can also be spent fishing.

Climate: Generally you may expect a  summer with somewhat lower average temperatures and a bit more rain then in Western-Europe.

460 lbs White Sturgeon

Fishing: In this area the variation of fishing is enormous. Except from the main river you can fish some 10 tributaries. Sturgeon fishing however mostly takes places in some parts of the main river. You may expect 10-15 hook-ups per boat ( max 4 fishermen) per day. Sizes vary from 60 lbs to far above 600 lbs. Fishing Salmon( especially sockeye and silvers) and steelhead fishing can both be done in the main river but often more successfully in one of the beautiful tributaries. In the main  river fishing is mostly done by spinning and baitcasting whereas the tributaries offer excellent fly fishing.

fantastic steelhead fishing in tributary

Accomodation: A fantastic cosy Ranch overlooking the Fraser river valley is at our disposal. The distance to the fishing spots is about 10-20 minutes. We will have breakfast and supper in the Ranch and  lunch on the river bank.

Private ranch

Qualification: This is a high class fully organized fishing location. You may leave your fishing equipment, maybe apart from your waders,  home. The Jet Boat with professional guide brings 4 fishermen( women) easily to the fishing spot during 8 hours a day. Both the avid and the easy  fisherman will find their needs. The luxury accomodation guarantees a relaxed stay. Upon request you may take some smoked or frozen fish back home. It is fully adapted to a family stay as well.
